i celebrated christmas for about 8 years with zeal, and a few years afterward because my dad forced it on us.
(i was one of those who loved learning the truth and readily gave up holidays.
) for years and years, and even to this day, christmas carols would give me warming feelings of love and joy and family the music would bring out the memories and emotions of the time of year.
I think of those songs... I hear them... and I think,,,, I think,,,, oh my god, turn that sh*t off right NOW.
I was raised a JW, but never could "warm up" to the KM's. Oh sure, there were the odd ones that stirred some emotions in me, but for the most part, ugh, hated singing them. I always did love Christmas Carols though, although by the time Christmas comes along, I'm pretty sick of hearing them too lol

i have been laying low for a while, and wanted to say hi to everyone, and give a bit of an update.
the past year i have learned to let go of my mom and step-dad.
my mom wouldn't talk to me before, but my step-dad and i went through some conversations that showed me how ignorant he is.
I've been wondering how things are with you. I know what you are going through with JW family, I had to do something similar just this last week with my JW step mom and sister, hurts but it wasn't healthy what was going on with our relationship. Maybe a "cooling off" period will do us both some good.
Can't say I've missed you on werewolf - you always suspect me! lol

it seems funny to hear how some get love bombed, others get left alone when they fade.
i moved and told nobody - by the time they figured i was 'weak', it was too late - i was gone.
so honestly, what was it like for you when you left the 'organization'?
Never really experienced the "love bombing", but our BS conductor really did try, as best as he was able to. Drop in on a Saturday when they were in service, we did have a home "bible study" with him and his wife for a time, etc, but that was really about it. Then we moved, territory boundaries were changed around and it was easy to just "slip away". There was one brother that called on us every once in a while, but that was because my mother asked him to.

Oh god sitll in, it's been years since I've been to an assembly, and I'm not sure i even have any appropriate attire! lol Maybe I could scrounge something up on Sunday and sneak in for a brief visit. Want me to bring you a Timmies?? lol
i've read where many of you have posted that you "don't want to hurt family members feelings" and that's the reason you don't come clean about how you feel as far as the jw's go.
i was wondering if it ever dawned on you who think like this how you still are being abused mentally by both this religion and your family by worrying about their feelings while they have total disregard for your thoughts and/or feelings?
i've never told a family member how they must think for me to talk to them; never hounded a family member to come to a meeting they have clearly shown they don't want to attend.
How many times has our family members hurt our feelings for leaving? I did have an understanding with my JW mother, but recently had to step back and restrict my contact with her because she blames everything wrong in our relationship on me "leaving the truth". The things that come out of her mouth are very hurtful, and I had to tell her I don't deserve that anymore. I will not tolerate that kind of behaviour towards me anymore.
I never want to intentionally hurt someones feelings, things can be said with tact, kindness, but firmness, and we have to respect ourselves and our beliefs, and our family and friends should do the same, even if there are differences, if you really truly love someone.

suppose a jw decided to change clothes to very comfortable clothes after each day at the district assembly, how would the elders react?
Apparently it was read in the KM that JW's are not to change when going out for dinner after the sessions. They ar to wear their Assembly clothes and badges. I'm not sure how that works when relaxing at the pool after lol.
I can't wait to change my clothes when I get home from work, and I dress pretty casual, and can even wear jeans, but I still love to change into something more comfy when I get home.

so going off all my meds proved one huge things to me....i thought i was just depressed....almost constantly...and not bi-polar....but after going off all meds.......life was good.....real good ....oh so incredibly flucking good....that it hit finally hit me....i really should not be feeling this good...so could i hardly needed any sleep or food!
everything was 20,000 times better than it should be......even my grilled salmon, garlic mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli with lime was soooo good i let every bite linger for at least a minute!?!?
!....yeah weird.

they are just so involved with the religion and will not see any other point of few.
my son is with my parents spending his first week of summer vacation with them.

I know what you are going through. My mother has called me Apostate before, went to the elders etc. I just today had to tell her that I can't communicate with her other than if there was an emergency because she blames everything on me and my brother not being "in the truth", and that we hate her because of it. I don't know how parents can forgo the "natural affection" for their children in place of a man made organization.
I'm sorry you had to experience this.
Keep your chin up girl, and remember to a certain extent they are "brainwashed".
